OK, you know that I haven’t blogged in months. I’ve been busy getting married, going to school, starting a business and other things that just take up all of my time. On this historic day, though, I felt that it was appropriate for me to write something pertaining to the new leader that our country is about to receive.
First, let me begin by saying that I do not think Barack Obama is the anti-christ. Period. I believe he is a man who believes what he says, and has a vision that America can be changed.
I believe that while George Bush had good intentions, those intentions were turned in a way that cast a poor light on his presidency. God forbid that I’m ever in his shoes.
President Obama will have to deal with the same things that presidents have delt with for years. He will be tried with fire and have good times and bad. Only time will tell if he’ll be able to help America realize the change that he has promised. I hope he can. We all hope that he can.
So today, on this Inauguration Day, remember that we as Americans have the privilege of living in a country where we can have a peaceful transfer or power and celebrate that transfer. Remember why we have the right to vote for and elect the choice of the people. Try and put away petty disagreements and ignore party lines for just awhile, and celebrate that history is being made. America has her first African-American president, and he will do good for our nation.
There is always hope, and today is the day to let that hope spring up.

The weekend of the 4th was good. Long, but good. The parents met. They liked each other. They like us. All is well.
The stress is at a high level as we’re now 40 days out from the wedding. Liz is out of town, I have a ton of homework, and I got less than 6 hours of sleep last night, which I’m totally feeling RIGHT NOW.
I did one hour of cardio this morning, and then at 11:30 worked out my legs until I could hardly stand upright. Taking a shower after that was quite the feat. Right now my sinuses are acting up, my neck hurts, my head hurts, and I really just want to curl up into a ball and go to sleep, but I can’t. I need to go get food, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to keep it down.
Yes, today is a Monday, in all its glory.

The first single (and free download from their website), Violet Hill from Coldplay’s new album, Viva la Vida, was great. It sounded different than their previous offerings.
The second single, available on iTunes - Viva la Vida - was AMAZING. The strings were captivating, the lyrics were spot on, and the melody was perfect. I couldn’t wait to download the album.

The complete album, upon first, second and third listens, was, to me, very disappointing. I let it sit for about a week. I had worn out the two singles, and initially I wasn’t that psyched about the entire album. Until yesterday.
I listened to Lost? and fell in love with the song. This morning I re-listened to the album in it’s entirety - start to finish. I have to say, it has totally grown on me, and plays much better when listened to in an entire sitting. The songs are very cohesive and from a different vein than previous Coldplay albums (of which I haven’t been a huge fan).
